Is the Bible alone sufficient?

Do you think it is possible to simply read the Bible, with no extraneous study materials or personal guidance, and come to a saving faith? Do you know anyone who has?

There is no reason to listen if I cannot hear.

I think it can be sufficient. I haven't done it personally - God used people to help me commit to listening by sharing their convictions. I didn't use any extra books, though. Do you think that's foolish?

Absolutely not - you're one of the smartest people I know! ;)

I read the Bible several times on my own and so has my Dad, and neither of us could make any sense of it other than some historical things.

I wonder what other people think?

Couldn't tell you, not much interest in the topic. :)

Another day, perhaps?

I think that if we read the Bible, in its original language, no one could help but come to faith. Note I didn't say saving faith! ;-)

For the original languages show our Lord and Savior to be so much bigger and more loving and more SUPERNATURAL--there would be no doubt as to who He was, is, and is to come.
There would only be Love.
